My 30 day sugar detox continues and I’ve now been three weeks without any added sugar in my diet whatsoever. I’m happy to say that although they’re not completely gone my cravings for sweets are much better now than they were. I still see and hear desserts everywhere (someone said the word ‘donut’ this morning in reference to a spare tire on their car and all I could think of was the kind with frosting and sprinkles) but overall my cravings are less severe, especially in the evenings, and I finally feel like I’m in control and not the sweets. Plus there’s been no more fruit binging or ‘eating around’ my sweet tooth.
Physically I still haven’t lost any weight (although that’s more a hopeful side-effect than a goal) but I have noticed that my skin is looking much better. My face has a more even skin tone and is totally clear of breakouts at the moment, which is nice since I almost always seem to have a zit or two lingering around on my nose or chin.
So just one week left until the official detox is over and I can go back to having sugar. I’m already thinking about what changes I can hold onto permanently, and of course how I’m going to reward myself for being so good this month (and yes, it will probably be sugar-related!).
