The Tylenol recall that began in December and was expanded in March is being expanded once again. CNN Money reports that McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a division of Johnson & Johnson is recalling 21 lots of OTC drugs which include Tylenol, Motrin and Benadryl. The products have been recalled following complaints of a “musty or moldy odor.”
The new recall includes certain types of Children’s Tylenol as well as adult-strength Benadryl, Motrin IB, Tylenol Extra
Strength, Tylenol Day & Night and Tylenol PM. A spokeswoman declined to say exactly how many products are affected. Previously, the recall affected varieties of Tylenol Arthritis Pain caplets.
The products were stored on a wooden pallet that contained traces of a chemical, which caused the odor. Though some people have complained of nausea, stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhea, the chance of health problems is extremely small.
If you think you might have bought the recalled products, stop using them and contact McNeil for instructions on how to obtain a refund or replacement. For more information, visit www.mcneilproductrecall.com or call 1-888-222-6036.
